Sogecable takes HD transponder Spanish pay-TV operator Sogecable is taking new capacity from SES Astra ahead of the launch of HD programming.
Sogecable, which operates the Digital+ bouquet over Spain, has taken an extra Astra transponder in readiness for new channels, including HD programming.
The deal is a major step for SES in securing its hold on the Spanish market over rival satellite operator Hispasat. “The new agreement with Sogecable underlines the importance of our main orbital position 19.2° East for the Spanish market and for the delivery of standard digital and HD programming,” said Alexander Oudendijk, CCO at SES Astra. “We will further build on our relationship with our long-standing customer Sogecable and continue to deliver highest quality services to broadcasters and satellite TV homes in Spain.” |
